Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have collaborated yet again on a project. After Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat, the couple is set to be seen in Kabir Khan’s ’83. The film is based on true events that took place during the 1983 world cup win of India against West Indies. Ranveer plays the part of Kapil Dev in the film who led the team to victory, while Deepika will be seen playing the part of his wife Romi Dev. The actress recently opened about what she loves about Romi Devi in real life and how it was like meeting her to a leading daily, she said, “I feel so inspired every time I meet her. She has an extremely refreshing energy, is intelligent, knowledgeable, and funny. I like her candour. Romi ji is someone who is extremely honest and when she needs to express herself, she does it with a lot of dignity. I like the way she conducts herself with so much grace.”
The actress further added, “At the end of day, for any champion, the drive, commitment and dedication must come from within. But yes, having a solid support system is important as it allows the person to work without holding back, without any kind of emotional burden. In that sense, Romiji has played an extremely important part in Kapil Dev’s success.” Well, we can’t wait to watch this smashing couple on the big screen once again. What about you? ’83 hits the theatres on April 10, 2020.
